Two things One, while bots may not be a good idea, the idea of subscriptions is, and is essentially what the autovoters do. So, though much content may not be "organically curated" according to your definition, it is real people supporting authors that they choose. Secondly, the new rewards curve will make it impossible for the vast majority of users to support the content they like. All votes that aren't on "viral" content will be essentially meaningless. This means communities that have been building connections between normal users will get thrown into the same pile as spammers. This is not the solution we're looking for. This is not a solution that works for most users. It causes more problems than it solves. If the whales supporting this change truly believe it won't hurt the non-spam users, they should commit to creating a whitelist of users who will receive upvotes from them that would bring their post/votes values up to where they would have been for the same rshares of upvotes in pre-EIP levels. I do some autovoting myself. They are people I want to make sure I don't miss upvoting. So, yes that is like a subscription. I put those people on my Gina notices and usually end up reading their posts. Not only because I want to see their work but I also want to not get into a situation where someone is getting a regular upvote and they start posting crap. As for the whales, call me a cynic, I don't believe for a minute they will start doing more manual curation. It's time consuming and not a good use of their time and resources when they can make even more by delegating to bots.
