It may take a while to adjust to the changes, but we may soon see them as normal. We need to target our votes better to reward the best content and not just for maximum profit. Trending is already being improved with big accounts flagging junk posts with paid votes. That frees up rewards for the rest of us. Steem will never be perfect and it is up to us to make it better.

I’m cautiously optimistic at the moment. The reward curve doesn’t seem quite as harsh as I was fearing, and as I’m someone who curates more than posts the new passive income of the 50/50 split is noticeable for me. I’ve been using my downvotes at targets like the crystalliu accounts, was happy to have theycallmedan assist heavily on some of those posts, and I just saw that Blocktrades landed a pretty heavy barrage of downvotes on haejin today... so that made me grin!
