Hey everyone! It's @sampraise77 for Hive open mic week 273. I'm doing a cover of Lord I Need Your Fire by Joshua Babuje. I hope it speaks to you!

Joshua Babuje's song is all about wanting that divine spark, being made holy and getting a spiritual refresh. The song isn't out there on socials yet, but the message hits hard with anyone who wants to get closer to God and feel the Holy Spirit. It's simple but really deep, you know?

The lyrics are:

Basically, it's a big ask for God's fire, which, if you look at the Bible, means getting cleaned up inside, feeling God's presence, getting power, and starting fresh. Like in Malachi 3:2-3, God's like a fire that cleans people up. And in Acts 2:3-4, the Holy Spirit showed up as flames above their heads, which was the start of their ministry. Joshua Babuje is singing about wanting that change deep down, where your heart gets cleaned and your soul gets ready.

When he sings Pure and Holy fire, he wants the good kind of fire, not one that burns everything, but one that makes you holy and points you to what God wants. It's like wanting to get rid of all the junk inside and get back to living a life dedicated to God.

And when he says, Baptize me with your fire and with the Holy Ghost, he's talking about what John the Baptist said in Matthew 3:11 – getting a spiritual restart, getting filled with the Holy Spirit, and getting the power to live how you're meant to.

So, Lord I Need Your Fire is like a prayer for starting over and giving yourself to God. It's about being humble, depending on the Holy Spirit, and really wanting that fire from God to change you inside and out.
