it is the continuation of truecrypt (which was safe) und has most certainly a master backdoor in it

So if I have veracrypt currently, I should go to Truecrypt? I thought I read somewhere that the Veracrypt version I got was a better one that didn't have a backdoor in it. Not sure though, it was years ago!

the last stable truecrypt version 7.1a is stable and good to go just old inferace and style ofc one can't really say if it is 100% safe, but also havent heard of any breach.. veracrypt is probably also safe.. I have mistaken it with bitlocker (which is from microsoft, but who knows if veracrypt is also..)

Well, Microsoft is so fluent in backdoors that I wouldn't be surprised if they breached data from FBI, CIA and NSA and sent it to both Jesuits and jihadists, just to make us cringe
