Greetings community! Hoping you have a relaxing weekend to start this week with all your energy. I want to share my blog from this weekend and it turns out that a call from the Teachers Social Security Center called me to pick up some vitamin supplements so we went out urgently to look for them since we were against time. On the way and almost by fate the day was exceptionally beautiful so I decided to share this moment with you. Let's begin!

Quiero compartirles mi blog de este fin de semana y es que resulta que una llamada del Centro de Seguro Social de Profesores me llamó para retirar unos suplementos vitamínicos así que salimos de emergencia a buscarlos ya que teníamos el tiempo en contra. En el camino y casi por cuestiones del destino el día estaba excepcionalmente hermoso así que decidí compartir este momento con ustedes. Comencemos!

So we ran out of the Center of Caracas and as always the traffic is the order of the day. But if you have these moments of waiting it is because you have the opportunity to contemplate things that given the vertigo of my entropic City go unnoticed and one of them is that I live literally at the foot of the Ávila hill and in every closed corner of the city center, whenever you are looking north you will have a spectacular view of our great green lung.

> Entonces salimos corriendo del Centro de Caracas y como siempre el tráfico esta a la orden del día. Pero si al tiene estos momentos de espera es que tienes la oportunidad de contemplar cosas que dado el vértigo de mi entrópica Ciudad pasan desapercibida y una de ellas es que vivo literalmente a las faldas del cerro Ávila y en cada esquina cerrada del centro de la ciudad, siempre que este mirando al norte tendrás una espectacular visual de nuestro gran pulmón vegetal.

# A short walk through Plaza Venezuela/Un breve paseo por Plaza Venezuela

When I was a university student I always took the bus to the Universidad Central and halfway along the way I always passed by Plaza Venezuela, one of the most central and attractive places in Caracas. The photos I took are a true reflection of Caracas and its climate: perpetual summer and those royal palms that give you the impression that you are going to the beach.

> Cuando era estudiante universitario siempre tomaba el Bus con destino a la Universidad Central y a mitad del camino siempre pasaba por Plaza Venezuela uno de los lugares más céntricos y vistoso de Caracas. Las fotos que tomé son un fiel reflejo de Caracas y su clima: un perpetuo verano y esas palmas reales que te dan la impresión de que vas a la playa.

In my previous post I had mentioned that here in the tropics there are only 2 seasons, the dry and the rainy. We are already entering the rainy season so the 24 hours of a day are distributed as follows: the first 12 hours a sun so radiant and clear that gives us these photos with an intense blue sky and then the remaining 12 hours a gray and heavily cloudy sky. So I took advantage of these early hours of the morning to have very clear images.

> En mi post anterior había comentado que aquí en el trópico solo existen 2 temporadas, la seca y la lluviosa. Ya estamos entrando en la temporada de lluvias así que que el las 24hroas de un día se reparten de la siguiente manera: las 12 primeras horas un sol tan radiante y despejado que nos regala estas fotos con un cielo azul intenso y luego las 12 horas restantes un cielo gris y fuertemente nublado. Así que aproveche estas primeras horas de la mañana para tener imágenes con gran nitidez.

# Entering the University City/Entrando a la Ciudad Universitaria

The Central University of Venezuela has been in existence for more than 300 years. Its headquarters have changed over time and currently the University City is home to an urban structure created by the teacher Carlos Raúl Villanueva in 1954.

> La Universidad Central de Venezuela desde hace más de 300 años, su cede ha cambiado con el tiempo y actualmente se encuentra en la Ciudad Universitaria una estructura urbanística creada por el maestro Carlos Raúl Villanueva en 1954.

The University City has many entrances, but since we come from the west of Caracas we enter through the City Stadiums. The Soccer and Baseball stadiums are located here. They are a symbol of what it means to be a Caracas native. Of course, if I was born in Caracas and studied at the UCV, I am definitely a fan of the Caracas Lions! The city's baseball team.

>La Ciudad Universitaria tiene muchas entradas, pero como venimos del oeste de Caracas entramos por los Estadios de la Ciudad, aquí se ubican los estadios de Futbol y de Beisbol, son un símbolo  de lo que es ser caraqueño y por supuesto si nací en Caracas y estudie en la UCV definitivamente soy fanático de los Leones del Caracas! La selección de beisbol de la ciudad.

And well, friends, our trip ends here. We managed to pick up the vitamin supplements and before leaving, I went to the top of the building and took this last photo of the stadiums. As you can see, the city rests in a valley surrounded by a mountain range, which is why it is called the Valley of Caracas.

> Y bien amigos justo aquí termina nuestro viaje, logramos retirar los suplementos vitamínicos y antes de retirarnos fui a lo más alto del edificio y tome esta última foto de los estadios. Como pueden la ciudad descansa en un valle rodeado de una cadena montañosa, por eso se llama El Valle de Caracas.
