🚀 Announcing my SPS-Validator Node 🚀 louis.sps
In this post I announce that my Splinterlands Validation Node (SPS-Validator) under the username **louis.sps** is successfully installed and running. A few weeks before the official release, I was involved in various phases of development and testing to improve the SPS Validator Node software and check for bugs. The cooperation with the team was great, easy and fast! 

For deploying my node and validating the blocks I rented my own VPS which has the following specs: 

### Tech-Specs:
- Server location: Falkenstein, Germany.
- 4 VCPU's
- 8 Gigabytes of RAM
- 160GB of disk space
- Running on Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS

I monitor all my servers with the free tool - Netdata! They provide a simple code to copy, paste, send, done. The monitoring is running. If there are any unusual spikes in performance etc., I get an e-mail notification straight away. 


## Me, myself and I

I'm a Splinterlands Player for a long time! Battling since June 2018 makes me a long-standing loyale Player and Investor. I have always followed the development of Splinterlands. Some of the decisions I can't approve of myself, but on the whole I'm satisfied. In addition to my gaming successes at Splinterlands, I have devoted a lot of my time to the topic of security - both at Splinterlands and here on the Hive Blockchain. As a security researcher, I have been able to uncover a number of security vulnerabilities in the past and report them to the people responsible so that they can be fixed. I won't go into any more detail here - the people and companies already know ;). 

Apart from that, I'm just a digital nomad - I like traveling the world, taking photos and interacting with people. In addition to my Splinterlands SPS Validator Node, I also run an HIVE Backup-Witness and an HIVE-Engine Validation Node (louis.witness). A VSC Validation Node is also planned for when the network goes live soon (louis.vsc).

I ended up just delegating my node license to someone else.  I had the hardware to run the thing, but I wasn't going to be able to handle the data in and out without having to answer a lot of questions.  I figured it was better just to leave it be.  We will see how much I end up making on it.

Ich habe mir mal das Monitoring Tool "Netdata" angesehen (ausprobiert) und wurde auch gleich von ihm per Mail darüber informiert, dass der Speicher meines vsc Knotens voll ist ;)

Hätte ich so nun nicht gleich bemerkt, weil er ja sauber gelaufen ist. Auch ahne ich nun den Grund, warum er nach einer gewissen Zeit den Betrieb einstellte.
Habe nun den swapfile auf 15 GB erhöht und und hoffe, dass es ausreichend ist.

Ist schon ein nützliches Werkzeug und hat auch eine coole Benutzeroberfläche

Ach, übrigens habe ich natürlich schon vor Tagen für deinen Node gevotet ;) Die anderen kenne ich leider nicht, werde aber alle meine 10 Votes verteilen. Muss mir die anderen Teilnehmer erstmal anschauen.

Hey, gerne. Ja ist sehr praktisch. Aktuell erhalte ich sehr viele Mails weil das ipfs docker von vsc anscheinend immer wieder abstürzt und neu startet. Warte eigentlich darauf das vaultec die nächstens Versionen pusht und es mit der Entwicklung nach außen hin endlich weiter geht. Naja, wahrscheinlich Werd ich erstmal den vsc container killen, da der nur probs macht Grad. Freut mich aber das du nen feines neues Spielzeug hast. Installation war ja Recht easy denk ich. Ein Befehl und Abfahrt :)
