For me, **rol** games are amazing, they offer us immense possibilities to enter fictional worlds and fantasy stories, that's why it is a genre loved by millions and millions of users and people who love this genre. But many years ago, specifically **22 years ago**, a work of art was created which not many people know, or maybe they do, but I am infinitely grateful for having had the chance to have played **Planescape: Torment**, and to enjoy what a good **RPG** is.

In my opinion I think that this game was very advanced for its time, and I think this specifically because of how gigantic and monstrous the game can be, really, I think I have never seen a role-playing video game so well worked, and with the infinite number of options we have. For me, when Planescape: Torment was released, players were not prepared for this kind of role-playing games, and it was very noticeable at the beginning of its release, since it honestly did not have the sales it really deserved. That's why today, I want to revive and unblock a memory for the lovers of the RPG genre.

The first thing I want to tell you is that I don't know a videogame with such an incredible and extensive story as the one in **Planescape: Torment**, and I know that RPGs have huge amounts of texts, dialogues, options to choose from, etc. But the sheer amount that exists in this video game is insane. At the beginning we are a man who doesn't remember anything about himself, and our mission throughout the game is to find out who the fuck we are. The map of this game is gigantic, just telling you that there are different "biomes", I really don't know what to call it xD. We can even enter through different portals and get to know new areas, which will give a lot more action to the game.

Planescape is terribly **extensive**, the different ways to follow our story is amazing, I remember that apart from the primary characters that existed and all that, there are also people who are standing there doing nothing, we can interact with them and enter a *"mini-story", within a great story*, so I tell you that I do not know a game as extensive as this, also, the every question they ask you and dialogues that show us, make us enjoy every option we choose, yes, we must be careful, because there will be no turning back.

What I like about this game is that we have many ways to develop the story to our liking, the game gives us total freedom. Something that I liked, but at the same time not so much, is that **Planescape: Torment**, is a video game with an overwhelming amount of dialogues, it can even annoy us sometimes, how it happened to me. But it was simply a matter of focusing on the story that the game offered us, and enjoy it. Maybe for some this is a negative point, because I'm not lying to you, the game has too much dialogue, I'm not exaggerating.

And I know I talk a lot about the story itself that the game offers us, but for me, it is the best thing that this game has, the simple fact that you are walking down any street or town, and suddenly you talk to any character there, and when you least expect it you ended up going through portals to another dimension and investigating something totally different from your main objective, that's the amazing thing about Planescape, apart from that, we will also have some **action and fighting scenes**, but I sincerely believe that **Planescape: Torment** is totally dedicated to dialogue, even, we can avoid fighting in many ways, one of them is having a good level of *wisdom*, and the other option is *charisma*.

Very well, I will stop talking a little bit about its story and I will tell you other positive points that the game has, if we focus on its graphic section, it is really quite basic and well worked. Apparently for a person who has not played the game, they will simply not take it into account, but I, who played the game for many hours in a row, and explored an incredible amount of its map, I can tell you that what makes **graphically** Planescape stand out, is its very good setting of each small place of the map, I think that for a game from 22 years ago, it looks spectacular, and the developers did an incredible job in the setting of the game, even in some areas of the map I got to feel fear.

Apart from that its soundtrack is excellent, we have a good music that makes us enjoy the game perfectly.

The great and extensive journey that we must do with our beloved nameless character, is abysmal, and I like that every decision we make influences the profile of who we are, and thanks to them we will gradually realize who we are and what happened to us, which obviously that is the goal of the game, so we have many hours to enjoy this great story, you must try it.

Something that I noticed and I quite like about RPG games, is that we have at our disposal to choose who we will be in the future, for example, we can be **bad, good or neutral**. And the best of all is that as we choose our decisions throughout the game, and we choose the path we want, the world will act accordingly to us and our decisions, Great, right? That's why the wonderful story that **Planescape: Torment** offers us is outlandish, and honestly some players of that time didn't understand and weren't used to games as brutal as this one, maybe that's why it didn't have the impact it should have had.

I completely admire the creators of this wonderful game, I really can't understand how you can have so much creativity and mentality to make this kind of brutal videogames, with a perfect story and too good to be real, that's why **Planescape: Torment** helped to mark the next step for all the RPG's to come, without a doubt it was the biggest and best example they could get for the new RPG's developers in the future. It's honestly up to each developer what and how to guide them, but at its core, this game is a thing of beauty.

The incredible storytelling, and the possibilities offered to us, is one of the best I've seen, and, it has many more positive details, for example, the **combats**, tend to be sometimes quite entertaining and also tend to be quite strategic, and so, there are many, many more things that if I were to break down and mention every positive thing about **Planescape: Torment**, the post would easily reach 10,000 words.

Para mí, los juegos de **rol** son increíbles, nos ofrecen inmensas posibilidades de adentrarnos en mundos ficticios e historias fantasiosas, por eso, es un género muy querido por millones y millones de usuarios y personas amantes de este género. Pero hace bastantes años, específicamente hace **22 años**, se creó una obra de arte la cual no muchos conocen, o tal vez sí, pero agradezco infinitamente por haber tenido la posibilidad de haber jugado **Planescape: Torment**, y de disfrutar lo que es un buen **RPG**.

En mi opinión pienso que este juego estuvo muy avanzado para su época, y esto lo pienso específicamente por lo gigantesco y monstruoso que puede llegar a ser el juego, de verdad, creo que nunca he visto un videojuego de rol tan bien trabajado, y con la infinidad de opciones con las que contamos. Para mí, a la hora de haber sido estrenado Planescape: Torment, los jugadores no estaban preparados para este tipo de juegos de rol, y se notó mucho al principio de su lanzamiento, ya que sinceramente no tuvo las ventas que realmente merecía. Por eso hoy, quiero revivir y desbloquearles un recuerdo a los amantes del género RPG.

Lo primero que quiero decirles es que no conozco un videojuego con una historia tan increíble y extensa cómo la que tiene **Planescape: Torment**, y sé que los juegos de rol tienen grandes cantidades de textos, diálogos, opciones a escoger, etc. Pero el brutal cantidad que existe en este videojuego es de locos. Al comienzo somos un hombre que no recuerda nada sobre sí mismo, y nuestra misión durante todo el juego es averiguar quién mierda somos. El mapa de este juego es gigante, con solo decirles que existen diferentes "biomas", realmente no sé cómo llamarle xD. Incluso podemos entrar por diferentes portales y conocer nuevas zonas, que darán mucha más acción al juego.

Planescape es terriblemente **extenso**, las diferentes maneras de seguir nuestra historia es asombroso, recuerdo que aparte de los personajes primarios que existían y todo eso, también existen personas que están paradas allí sin hacer nada, podemos interactuar con ellas y entrar a una *"mini-historia", dentro de una gran historia*, por eso les digo que no conozco un juego tan extenso cómo este, también, las cada pregunta que te hacen y diálogos que nos muestran, nos hacen disfrutar de cada opción que elijamos, eso sí, debemos ser cuidadosos, ya que no habrá vuelta atrás.

Lo que me gusta de este juego es que tenemos muchas formas de desarrollar la historia a nuestro gusto, el juego nos da total libertad. Algo que me gustó, pero a la vez no tanto, es que **Planescape: Torment**, es un videojuego con una cantidad de diálogos abrumadores, puede incluso llegar a fastidiarnos en algunas ocasiones, cómo me ocurrió a mí. Pero simplemente era cuestión de centrarnos en la historia que el juego nos ofrecía, y disfrutarla. Tal vez para algunos esto sea un punto negativo, ya que no les miento, el juego tiene demasiado diálogo, no estoy exagerando.

Y sé que hablo mucho de la historia en sí que el juego nos ofrece, pero para mí, es lo mejor que tiene este juego, el simple hecho de estar caminando por cualquier calle o pueblo, y de repente hables con algún personaje de allí, y cuándo menos te lo esperas terminaste atravesando portales hacía otra dimensión e investigando una cosa totalmente diferente a tu objetivo principal, eso es lo increíble de Planescape, aparte de ello, también tendremos algunas escenas de **acción y peleas**, pero sinceramente creo que **Planescape: Torment** está totalmente dedicado al diálogo, incluso, podemos evitar pelear de muchas formas, una de ellas es teniendo un buen nivel de *sabiduría*, y la otra opción es el *carisma*.

Muy bien, dejaré de hablar un poco de su historia y les diré otros puntos positivos que tiene el juego, si nos centramos en su apartado gráfico, realmente es bastante básico y bien trabajado. Aparentemente para una persona que no haya jugado el juego, simplemente no lo tomarán en cuenta, pero yo, que jugué el juego por muchas horas seguidas, y exploré una increíble cantidad de su mapa, puedo decirles que lo que hace que **gráficamente** destaque Planescape, es su muy buena ambientación de cada pequeño lugar del mapa, pienso que para ser un juego de hace 22 años, luce espectacular, y los desarrolladores hicieron un increíble trabajo en la ambientación del juego, incluso en algunas zonas del mapa llegué a sentir miedo.

Aparte de ello su banda sonora es excelente, tenemos una buena música que nos hace disfrutar el juego perfectamente.

El gran y extenso viaje que debemos hacer con nuestro querido personaje sin nombre, es abismal, y me gusta que cada decisión que tomemos influya en el perfil de quién somos, y gracias a ellos poco a poco nos daremos cuenta quién somos y qué nos pasó, que obviamente ese es el objetivo del videojuego, así que tenemos muchas horas para disfrutar esta grandiosa historia, deben probarlo.

Algo que pude notar y me gusta bastante de los juegos RPG, es que tenemos a nuestra disposición elegir quién seremos en un futuro, por ejemplo, podemos ser **malos, buenos o neutrales**. Y lo mejor de todo es que conforme vayamos eligiendo nuestras decisiones a lo largo del juego, y elijamos el camino que queramos, el mundo actuará en consecuencia a nosotros y nuestras desiciones, ¿Grandioso, verdad? Por eso, es que la maravillosa historia que nos ofrece **Planescape: Torment** es descabellada, y sinceramente algunos jugadores de esa época no entendían ni estaban acostumbrados a juegos tan brutales cómo este, tal vez por eso no tuvo el impacto que debió tener.

Admiro completamente a los creadores de este maravilloso juego, de verdad no logro entender cómo se puede tener tanta creatividad y mentalidad para hacer esta clase de videojuegos tan brutales, con una historia perfecta y demasiado buena para ser real, es por eso que **Planescape: Torment** ayudó a marcar el siguiente paso para todos los RPG que vinieran, sin duda fue el mayor y mejor ejemplo que pudieron obtener para los nuevos desarrolladores de RPG's en un futuro. Ya sinceramente queda de parte de cada desarrollador, que y cómo guiarse, pero en lo esencial, este juego es una hermosura.

La increíble narración de la historia, y las posibilidades ofrecidas para nosotros, es una de las mejores que he visto, y, tiene muchos más detalles positivos, por ejemplo, los **combates**, tienden a ser algunas veces bastante entretenidos y también suelen ser de bastante estrategia, y así, existe muchísimas cosas más que si me pongo a desglosar y mencionar cada cosa positiva de **Planescape: Torment**, el post llegaría fácilmente a las 10.000 palabras.

Se nota que es un juego muy interesante, me gustan los juegos de rol, los pocos que he jugado me han hecho pasar buen rato de diversión. Y si este es así que puedes decidir que hace es genial ya que normalmente debes seguir todo el patrón para que se desarrolle la historia. Buen post amigo saludos.

This is not even a game, it's like a mystic sacred book that goes deep into all esoteric knowledge, makes you question the meaning of Life, and gives you infinite amounts of food for thought. I wonder if we'll ever see anything like it in the "videogame" world.

That's amazing that the game was so huge and epic even 22 years ago. You make it sound like it still stands up against the best games today. I've never played this one before, will have to keep an eye out for it
