# <center>If You Can't Find It... Build It (or At Least Try Doing It!)</center>

With the [shutdown of Splex.gg](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-splinterlands-splexgg-has-been-shutted-down-a-great-platform-i-wont-forget) and the subsequent end of the **Rental Golem** service, I found myself facing a dilemma: [how can I continue to automate my cards rental?](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-splinterlands-can-you-still-automate-your-card-rentals)

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find an answer to this, and as of today, there seem to be no alternatives that would allow me to manage my collection automatically without having to periodically intervene manually to adjust rental prices.

At first, I was a bit concerned because my strategy on Splinterlands is designed to minimize the need for my intervention, given that I don’t play but rather just enjoy the passive income generated by my assets.

However, after reflecting on the issue more carefully, I realized that the situation might not be as bad as it initially seemed.

On Splinterlands, since [March 18, 2025](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-splinterlands-seasonal-rentals-are-here-how-will-this-affect-the-market), it has no longer been possible to rent out cards for periods shorter than the remaining duration of a season.

This means that cards must be rented for relatively long periods, and once rented out, you have to wait quite a while before getting them back.

Previously, it was possible to adjust rental prices every two days, but now the possibility to do so is much less frequent.

What used to be a repetitive and tedious task has turned into an activity that only needs to be done occasionally—**potentially just once every two weeks**.

## <center>It’s Not That Bad After All</center>

Once I realized this, it dawned on me that paying someone else to adjust the rental prices of my cards a couple of times a month wasn't really necessary.

In fact, it might have been an unnecessary waste of money.

However, one problem remains: sure, updating the rental price of my cards every now and then isn’t a huge effort... but **what criteria** should I use to update it?

To adjust a card’s price, you need to know what price other players were able to rent it for and for how many days.

Some might have rented it at very high prices but for only a few days, while others might have rented it at lower prices but for a much longer period. Some might not have been able to rent it for the entire season, while others might have rented it out at a price far below the average achieved by other users.

So, while I haven’t found a tool to automatically rent out my cards—*something I may not even need after all*—what would actually be very useful is a tool to analyze the historical rental values of my cards. That way, whenever I need to, I can determine the best price to list them for on the rental market.

To do this, I'll need to use the Splinterlands APIs, particularly the ones available on [this page](https://api2.splinterlands.com/doc/#/default/get_market_market_query_by_card).

I’ve already identified some that might be useful.

Now it’s time to roll up my sleeves and create a script that will allow me to quickly and easily retrieve the information I need.

If I succeed, I’ll be able to continue with my strategy while only slightly increasing my involvement, potentially earning a small boost in my returns.

# <center>Se Non Riesci a Trovarlo... Costruiscilo (o Almeno Prova a Farlo!)</center>

Con la [chiusura di Splex.gg](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-splinterlands-splexgg-has-been-shutted-down-a-great-platform-i-wont-forget) e la conseguente cessazione del servizio offerto tramite il **Rental Golem** mi sono trovato di fronte ad un dilemma: [come fare per continuare a gestire automaticamente i noleggi delle mie carte?](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-splinterlands-can-you-still-automate-your-card-rentals)

Purtroppo sul punto non sono riuscito a trovare una risposta e, ad oggi, sembrano non esistere alternative che possano consentirmi di gestire la mia collezione in modo automatico, senza dover periodicamente intervenire manualmente per modificare prezzi e valori di noleggio delle carte.

Lì per lì mi sono un po' preoccupato, perchè la mia strategia su Splinterlands prevede di ridurre al minimo la necessità del mio intervento, dato che non gioco ma mi limito a godere della rendita generata dai miei assets.

Riflettendo meglio però sul problema mi sono accorto che forse la situazione era meno grave di quanto mi fosse sembrata inizialmente.

Su Splinterlands dal [18 marzo 2025](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@arc7icwolf/engita-splinterlands-seasonal-rentals-are-here-how-will-this-affect-the-market) non è infatti più possibile noleggiare le proprie carte per periodi di tempo inferiori alla durata residua di una stagione.

Ciò significa che le carte devono essere noleggiate per periodi di tempo relativamente lunghi e che, quindi, una volta noleggiate bisogna aspettare un bel po' prima di rientrarne in possesso.

Se prima, perciò, era possibile modificare il prezzo di noleggio ogni due giorni, adesso si può farlo con una cadenza molto inferiore.

Quello che era un lavoro ripetitivo e faticoso è diventata un'attività da fare solo saltuariamente, **potenzialmente una sola volta ogni due settimane**.

## <center>Non è poi così male</center>

Una volta realizzato questo fatto mi sono accorto che, effettivamente, pagare qualcun altro per modificare un paio di volte al mese il valore di noleggio delle mie carte non era poi questa gran necessità.

Anzi, forse sarebbe stato un inutile spreco di soldi.

Tuttavia resta un problema: va bene che non si tratta di un gran lavoro aggiornare il valore di noleggio delle mie carte ogni tanto... ma secondo **quali criteri** aggiornarlo?

Per poter aggiornare il prezzo di una carta occorre infatti sapere a quale prezzo gli altri giocatori sono riusciti a noleggiarla e per quanti giorni.

Qualcuno potrebbe essere riuscito a noleggiarla per prezzi molto alti ma per pochi giorni, mentre qualcun altro per prezzi più bassi ma per un periodo molto lungo. Qualcuno potrebbe non essere riuscito a noleggiarla per l'intera stagione, mentre qualcun altro potrebbe averla noleggiata ad un prezzo troppo basso rispetto alla media realizzata dagli altri utenti.

Ecco che quindi laddove non ho trovato un tool per noleggiare automaticamente le mie carte - *cosa della quale, forse, alla fine non ho nemmeno bisogno* - potrebbe invece farmi molto comodo uno strumento per analizzare i valori storici di noleggio delle mie carte, così da sapere, ogni volta che ne ho bisogno, quale è il prezzo migliore a cui renderle disponibili sul mercato dei noleggi.

Per farlo avrò bisogno di ricorrere alle API di Splinterlands, ed in particolare a quelle disponibili a [questa pagina](https://api2.splinterlands.com/doc/#/default/get_market_market_query_by_card).

Ne ho anche già individuata qualcuna che potrebbe fare al caso mio.

Ora si tratta di rimboccarsi le maniche e creare uno script che mi consenta di ottenere facilmente e velocemente le informazioni di cui ho bisogno.

Se riuscirò nel mio intento sarò in grado di proseguire la mia strategia aumentando di pochissimo il mio intervento ed ottenendo in cambio, forse, un leggero aumento nei miei guadagni.
