It really bothers me how YouTube has been treating small creators for so long, putting ads on their videos but not giving them a penny which in my opinion is just stealing from people who work hard. I saw this problem when I was looking for help with some programming a while back and the big channels with millions of subscribers had these flashy but useless videos while a guy with about 300 subscribers showed me quickly and easily what I needed to fix my problem. YouTube has all this sophisticated technology and data about what people actually watch and how long they stay on videos but they still pay based on a number of subscribers rather than who actually helps people the most. Lately I've been thinking about those video sites with blockchain technology where creators could get paid based on the quality of their content and not just their popularity.
