Without doubt, adopting a security system comes loaded with lots of benefits for an organization, group of people or an individual and this has in recent years grown to become one of the features of every online platform, especially for an online community and block chain like hive.

From recent posts by @prayzz and @kronias , I have gotten an in-dept knowledge about the security keys on hive. Just like any other platform that uses password, hive use keys as its security system. These keys vary according to what they are used for.

Hive keys are used for a variety of things like commenting, posting, monetary exchange etc

**What are the functions/permissions of each keys and explain them?**

Master key : This is also called the owner key. it is used to change other keys on hive.

Active key: this is definitely the 2nd most important key on hive, it grant permission to actions, like transfer and exchange of tokens.Posting key: this is the most popular key on hive. it is used for social activities likes; posting, voting and commenting.

Memo key: this key is barely used key, This key is only used to encrypt and decrypt private messages sent through hiveDo you know how to locate security keys of Hive?

**How to locate Hive security keys**

From your dashboard or your Hive homepage, click on wallet

Click on keys and permission

After that, your keys will be loaded on your screen. You can click the reveal button to reveal each key.

1. Save your keys on Google drive
2. Write your keys in a save book and keep
3. You can save your keys as a document and store in a flash or hard disk.
4. Do not reveal your keys to anybody.
