Good day great minds, today, i come with an in-depth knowledge on hive token and how to power up. From a post made by @prayzz this is my own understanding of hive token and how to power up. Now lets get to business.

**How much do you know about Hive, Hive Power & HBD?**

Just like any other crypto currency known to the world today, hive can be purchased and sold for cash. Now what exactly is hive? Hive is noting else but a liquid currency used in hive.blog. it can be sold in exchange for money. Hive is only used here in hive.blog.

HBD is a reward token for hive. The decentralised blogging community, hive uses HBD to reward its bloggers on their posts and amazing content.

HBD also known as hive dollar can be converted to hive and also back to hive dollar. This is made possible because of the presence of the market feature on our wallet.

Hive power just as the name implies denotes the amount of power you have here on hive. Hive power makes it possible for you to make posts and also influence other peoples reward here on hive. With a lot of hive power, you can post anyhow you want without running out of resource credit fast. You also have the power to influence a post which is either by up voting or down voting. While having very low hive power might give you strict restrictions when it comes to posting because your resource credit will always get used up on little activity.

**Is there any importance of powering up Hive?**

Just as i have said earlier, hive power determines how you interact(your activity like posting, commenting etc) on hive and also influence other people's reward when you upvote or down vote a post. If you don't have enough hive power, there is need for you to power up so as to enjoy these benefits.

**How many ways are there to acquire Hive Power (HP)?**

To acquire hive power, there are 3 main ways which includes;

1. Earning from post
2. Buying and powering up
3. Through delegation (to be explained in next post)

Earning from post: this is a slow and steady process. here, you post on hive everyday or 3 times in a week and get rewarded from upvotes. Earnings from post are split into 4 and a part of it comes to our wallet.

 Buying and powering up: this is the fastest way to acquire hive power, but that should be on a healthy bank account. Lol ! If you have a lot of money, you can buy hive and convert it to hive power.

To convert HBD to hive, follow the steps below. from your dashboard, locate and click wallet. 
From your wallet click on hive, from the drop down, click market.

From the market dashboard, input the amount of hive you want to buy and it will show you its equivalent in HBD. Click on buy to purchase it.

**Can you power up your Hive To HP? (Must Show The Process)**
Yes you can, from your wallet dashboard, click on hive and click powerup
