A new church. A new church, last thing we need's a new church. New churches sprouting up all over, they grow up from the ground and they have sorts of seeds that'll stick to your clothes, stick to your toes, burrow into your skin or anywhere they can reach and try to grow in you, in the concrete, in the grass, in the water of the pond down the road, and them holy rollers just won't stop singing, won't stop preaching, won't stop yelling at you that you're going to hell if you don't REPENT REPENT REPENT for the end is near. Well it's been near enough for long enough that no one believes them anymore and anyway, this place has become hell-like enough, with all their preaching and harping and carrying on, how much worse could hell be? They just grow and grow and grow like a cancer on the face of this beautiful earth, and wasn't it Malcolm X that said church is the opiate of the masses? Well, he had it right, except it's more like a sickly-tasting beverage of the masses, that makes them writhe about so and yell at your door and up your chimney and down your basement. They try to get in any which way, any which way a tall, and they just won't take no for an answer. Finally you wind up joining up because it's better than the alternative, and at least you get free food, though everyone has to sweat their knuckles helping prepare it on regular shifts. And you've got companionship and you'll never want for someone to talk to, and there's misery in company, so they say.
