It is touchy indeed and can bring up some pretty emotional reactions. The intuition for many is that parents will do their best, but I am not sure that is the case, as like most of the things we do, we often work on habit and convenience, knowing better than we are knowingly doing. It is an interesting topic to consider as a parent though.
