I share the same hopes, I just think it will be a lot more difficult.

I agree better jobs. MFG jobs are often souless. I think the threats of evil robotic and AI is mostly silly.

When? was more related to if you think there will be more jobs when will this happen? There is usually a gap as we figure this out. For example some people who lose, won't be able to train so it's little consolation to them. But the bigger picture will likely be better in the long run.

I agree there will be more innovation and it will accelerate. I think the sheer speed reached by this acceleration makes things different.

Tools, machines and mfg make us faster, stronger, more adaptable and cheaper. 

Big data, Robotics and AIs ~ the stuff of the information age replace our intelligence and make us smarter. The last comparable leap was preindustrial age, printing and perhaps even writing. But the impact on human nature could be as big as agriculture or even fire and cooking. It's changing so fast and leading us to places that are evolutionary, not revolutionary. The sheer scale is the difference.
