I think it's easy to hold the real estate, provided that you have maintenance part covered. 

I used to be very much addicted to savings. And kind of suffered due to the same. Some of the changes that I faced in this context is basically demanding people in my family who wanted my money. And it's hard to handle such bad people.

In short, life is kind of moment specific, some people have to spend when time comes otherwise it is dust. Not spend too much because there will be rainy days.
