In the short term, one's currently losing, no doubt, but this should change in the long-term. I'm not dependent on splinterlands for anything at the moment. I just want to grow my deck and my account.

Im looking at it a similar way, im actually enjoying the game and building up my decks. If the prices fly up in a year or two thats a bonus, if not its just another game ive spent some money on to play(same as any other game with DLC) ,however at the very least with this game the items are resellable. !PIZZA
