A lot of moving parts there.  An interesting scenario.  So if the new member looks in, becomes interested, signs up, threads the day away (which I know from experience can at least be fun sometimes, if people are around), receives their micro dose, powers up, *eventually maybe* sees ad revenue kick in.  Now to get paid from that they must power down and sacrifice future ad revenue.  There's a bit of a *catch* there.  

Perhaps I'm a tough sell.  Maybe that's the problem.  Hint:  **That's the problem.** lol 

As for web2, the owner's making the money, and people complaining about that.  

I could buy a truckload of LEO, sit back, watch everyone thread the day away, not lift a finger, and make money off their efforts while they're busy convinced they must climb that mountain and level up, taking a hit if they stop, hardly making a dent in my wallet, and easily replaceable by the next group walking in the door.  Eerily similar to web2 options that lead to complaints, in my eyes.  Perhaps that might be appealing to someone getting in early (still a gamble), yet potentially leading to bad press down the road (something I'd factor in before buying).  If the system in its current form takes off, I do see people asking for a better deal in the future.  That would be the web3 angle kicking in.

Sidenote:  I never identified as a Hiver/Hivian or even a steemian back in the day.  But I do know some people like that kind of stuff.  I'm not too good at *fitting in.*

I do hope Threads works out.  Got a lot of respect for you folks trying to make it work.
