This is pretty much my philosophy. I got mega wrecked in 2018 by 'diversifying' as well. I lost 99% of my investment on pretty much everything except for Bitcoin. I lost 'most' of my investment, on Hive/Steem as well, but since I haven't sold it all, it technically isn't realized losses. (I initially bought into Steem at stupid high $2-$5)

I'm OK riding it out because I believe in Hive in the long run, and like you I actually use it everyday! Of course, had I sold all of my non-BTC assets at the end of 2017 and used it all to buy Hive now, I'd be one of the largest whales on the platform.
