I think options are good to have so microblogging will have it's place alongside longer form. It's interesting that Twitter is currently adding long form notes to their platform and have had threads for some time which many made use of.

it's in testing with a group of OGs... Twitter has an odd way of rolling stuff out. Here there's testnet and then everyone gets a crack at it. OVer there, features get rolled out piecemeal. They seem to start with the US and take forever to get to others.
