Opinions on what is considered abuse may vary. I think it is best to have the freedom to do what we want. If you don't like what a curation account does then don't delegate to it, but then many will prefer to keep whatever income they get from that. Any account can give out less downvotes than upvotes, so I don't think it's the big problem some make it out to be. If you see someone get downvotes you think are unfair then support them with your votes.

Yes, I agree with you, downvotes are somewhat necessary to deal with abusers (spammers, plagiarizers, etc). The fact that some accounts use their HP to support whatever they want regardless of the quality, well, that's out of our hands if we advocate for true freedom of speech. As you say, if the downvoting seems rather unfair it can be balanced out with upvotes. I think it's a matter of education, to maintain a healthy environment here on Hive. The fewer people use downvotes to express disagreement with other people's opinions, the fewer people will complain about the unfairness of downvotes.

I know some people like to cause trouble and they can do so fairly anonymously, but that is a price of freedom. I think it's a pretty low number who feel persecuted, but they can be vocal about it. They may need to reflect on whether their actions could be seen a bad for Hive. Greed and excessive posting can be seen as abuse. I've seen all sorts. Hive is what we make it. !BEER
