>How many currently hold a traditional job 55

This is probably around where IO would put it, meaning that there is about 40% "unemployment" - which is insane.

>How many have mental problems 25
How many are emotionally unstable 30

again, "insane" :D

Thank you for taking the time with this.

I think the difference on other social medias that can pay (like YT) is that those selected to earn are *pre-selected* to earn in some way - meaning there is some kind of filter before they have the chance. It changes what people see.

Seth Godin would call Hive a 'choose yourself' economy. It's a recurring theme for him, don't wait to be chosen, do it yourself.

For the employment question I factored in the significant number of people that live in countries that can not make a living even fully employed. But we do seem to have a considerable population that is not fully employed.

I think that there is a significant percentage of people in relatively low unemployment countries who don't have a job, while on Hive. I think there is some selection bias in what kinds of people sign up, with most not being investors, many hoping for some kind of fast finance. Of course, that is an illusion, but it doesn't stop some from trying.

I agree completely. I worked in a 'make money' business (it was literally 15 cents per day) and saw a lot of people from the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, Indonesia and China) that were desperate to earn the money. They visited multiple sites and the really successful ones made 1 or 2 dollars per day. For a 16 hour day. Often multiple identifiable people using one computer and one 'name'.

This wasn't just a few people, either. One site that I worked for was an Alexa top 1000 site. That's a lot of people every single day.

So yes. There is a bias. The biggest tragedy for me is some of the really talented people that come and go because the money isn't enough to support their families.
