I am not saying any particular project here or anywhere else, but if a person starts a venture without thinking or acting as if it is going to survive, it is unlikely to survive. 

Most VC projects fail, but I wonder why they fail. Timing, lack of support, the actions of the founders? There are many reasons, but if you are going to invest into one, it is probably a good idea to invest into one where the team running it actually believes they can get it to work.

"I have an idea. I have little faith it will work and I am not willing to work at it. Can I have some investment capital?"

There are plenty of failures out there, but at least some are still actually active. I think Hive will have activity on it for years to come, even if price doesn't appreciate much.

I guess, what I am mostly thinking, the way 'success' is defined in this space, is by speed and ability to stay at the cutting edge. The projects that are starting now with the people, likely will look different in 10 years. Amazon started as an online physical book selling company (they still sell books!), Netflix started as a DVD rental company by mail(don't know if they still rent DVDs), AAPL started as a computer company (they still sells computers). But my point is (and they are in conventional tech space, which is slower than crypto), they are very successful and they do a lot more than what they promised to their original investors. Do you see my point?

Yes, for longevity, these things will have to evolve and as I have said before, what need to happen in regards to crypto projects, is legit business models built on them, not just stake for yield. The yield has to come from business activity that generates value. What those businesses are, who knows. 

When it comes to the general purpose blockchains like Hive, many different types of internet models can be utilized over time, all collecting together to bring value to the core. The success of Hive isn't going to be on price, it will be on activity and distribution of the network. Currently, everything is evaluated on price, even if the BC/token generates no other activity.
