Most places it is 10 thousand dollars/euro. The interesting thing is that it is "legal tender" to that amount. Gold coins coming out of a mint stamped with 1 dollar on them are legal tender, which means if you were carrying 10,000 gold coins from a mint, you are allowed to go through, even though it has a value in the millions.
