Maybe but history disputes what you are alluding to. We exited a cycle where change, from a societal level, was not that great. Technology always goes forward, but its impact is cyclical. The last 20 year phase where society was impacted saw a massive different in how we worked, we entertained, and even space exploration.

If you consider the past 20 years, they appear quite similar to what we saw in 'Back to the Future', featuring concepts like flying cars, self-tying shoes, and hoverboards – none of which materialized. In fact, compared to the '90s, our lives haven't changed significantly despite being two generations removed from that era. That is what I was saying. You have been in a 20 year down cycle. Nobody in 2000 said that life had not changed much since 1980. That 20 year cycle saw huge changes. In 1980, there werent even copy machines in most offices let alone computers. Hence I stand by what I said. By 2040, we will look back at 2020 and realize how things have changed completely.
