AppSmith clearly seems to be much more powerful than Directus. I've seen it in action at work and you can develop full fledged application with it. I'm a bit sad that it won't run on my raspberry 😕.

Which RPi did you use? 
It would be near to impossible with the RPi3, but with the RPi4 8GB, it runs perfectly!
There's a big difference between those two versions. The RPi3 was ok as a server if you had very light applications running on it, but most on-the-shelf apps require at least 1GB.
The RPi4 is blazing fast in comparison and with that much RAM you can do almost whatever you want.
