I'm toying with beefing up my holding accounts so they can make Silver 3. Missing the thrill of cracking chests but the pragmatist in me is saying I'm dumb! You can't have it all.. or can you?

I am trying not to maximize too much. Rent a bit, play a bit. Also, what you could do is work out what you need in points to get to silver, gold etc - and then playing up to those points in the first week, renting out all for the last week and for most of the crazy EOS, but pull a couple back just in time to give you the points to move you back up the ranks to collect.

I have a set of Lvl3 summoners I can use, will get some of the new cards to supplement them. That should be enough for Silver. Some of them are Gold Beta Summoners.. so power won't be an issue.
