You didn't. I do downvote users that chronically do self voting. There's no misunderstanding there.

That is a consequence. 
Quality has nothing to do with my reason for downvoting. You can justify yourself for doing a good job and this and that for the post but I'll just negate a small amount of that self upvote because there's really no need to do a self upvote beyond being blatantly greedy.

Don't be. As @guruvaj mentioned, everyone is free to do the hell they want with their stake, their choice to exercise that ownership. I just choose to negate the rewards for accounts that chose the greedy route while spreading their 1% votes as an excuse like good deeds make the greedy acts less bad right? so I'll save us both time for the exchange. There's no discussion beyond that, not that I see myself being moved by justifying conscious self voting. You're welcome to downvote my posts too.
