We had to get a promo video out to our musical friend Kev who offered us a potential gig for New Year's Eve, I think I mentioned putting it together in my last post. As those videos are always asked for have I now finally taken on the task of sighting more stuff to send out when needed and today it was a selection of Christmas snippets that we recorded on Sunday at a Pub in Biggleswade. 

The pub has recently been reopened and as the week before was rather empty we didn't expect much of an audience again. The pub is somehow long and narrow with the bar on the left as you come in and a dance area at the very back where the sound is amazing! We played there a couple of times and felt rather lonely with the listeners sitting at the other end by the door.

This time we were put in the middle in front of the bar, so we were seen and, more importantly, clearly heard outside on the street, which brought in the odd dog walker and girl group.
It turned out to be an excellent evening and we played more than we were booked for, well into a third set.
We're back at the Pembroke Arms in January.

Wir mussten ein Promo-Video an unseren Musikerfreund Kev schicken, der uns einen möglichen Auftritt für Silvester angeboten hatte. Ich glaube, ich habe in meinem letzten Post erwähnt, dass ich es zusammenstellen würde. Da diese Videos immer gefragt sind, habe ich mich nun endlich der Aufgabe angenommen, mehr Material zu sichten, das ich bei Bedarf verschicken kann. Heute war es eine Auswahl von Weihnachtsschnipseln, die wir am Sonntag in einem Pub in Biggleswade aufgenommen haben.

Der Pub wurde vor Kurzem wiedereröffnet und da er in der Woche davor ziemlich leer war, haben wir nicht mit viel Publikum gerechnet. Der Pub ist irgendwie lang und schmal, mit der Bar auf der linken Seite, wenn man reinkommt, und einer Tanzfläche ganz hinten, wo der Sound super ist! Wir haben dort ein paar Mal gespielt, fühlten uns aber ziemlich einsam, weil die Zuhörer am anderen Ende neben der Tür saßen.

Diesmal wurden wir in die Mitte vor die Bar gesetzt, sodass wir gesehen und, was noch wichtiger war, draußen auf der Straße deutlich gehört wurden, was den einen oder anderen Hundehalter und eine Mädchengruppe anlockte.
Es war ein großartiger Abend und wir spielten mehr, als gebucht war, bis weit in den dritten Satz hinein.
Im Januar sind wir wieder im Pembroke Arms.
