Basically like ERC 20 in ETH.
There's an experimental trend of doing this sort of work with ERC 20s in ETH. @Skeenee does this with $SKULL on opensea.
https://opensea.io/assets/skeenee-crypto
using Tryroll as an exchange.

I was thinking about doing something similar with a combination of Uniswap and Colony.io.
http://alienhoney.org
Colonies have interesting quest based community training / project execution tools and function as guild banks with ERC 20 Reputation tokens that are built into their roadmap with increasing capacities down the line.
$HONEY is already associated with that colony, and minting can be controlled there in exchange for ETH Gas. I would need to take that $HONEY and Pool some ETH and head over to Uniswap, and then I could establish a swap pair.
I could also reward people for doing tasks / training modules on Colony with $HONEY, which would enable them to go buy NFTs on Opensea.io
Skeenee has used this approach for promotions.

The real interesting question is how effective something like this strategy is with a collective --
Such as the Alien Art Hive community.
.:.
In my mind, what HIVE can do, that ETH cannot do, is build and reward communities for unique engagement.
As an artist, I can earn more money working with ETH and USD than working with HIVE, because the HIVE art market doesn't exist in the same way as it does in those other economies.
I look forward to learning / trying out the HIVE NFTs, but I think the Splinterlands / game related art assets are going to be a lot stronger than just art collectables.
I think utility / function of the NFTs might be an edge that HIVE can take advantage of.
Sort of like Memes for posts, but unique ones.
Or Unique Badges or profile pictures -- that are correlated to 1/1 rare NFTs.
That would be excellent for HIVE artists.
Like, everyone can put a doge meme.

But, if there were a way to share / show off exclusive memes / art / badges / profile pictures as a display component of NFTs, then that would incentivize people to buy and show off, or commission, or little clubs to form around who has what insignia,
etc.
I suppose another analog to development in the ETH space is private access in the form of NFT ownership.
So, if you own a certain NFT, you can gain access to a certain tribe / community.
Cheers Aggroed.
