Your post was very refreshing in that it was written with effort, sincerity and good intentions .  You brought up excellent points about the value of helping others and what motivates people to do so.  It can be very sad when people do help with expectations of a return.  But I have faith in humanity that there are those good people who do things because they love and care.  That is what gives me hope and happiness for the present and future.
