I beg to disagree with this post. True love is outward concern to others and not self. By propagating the mindset to self love **first**, the tendency is for people to become selfish. 

I am not in any way insinuating that we ignore our interests but we need to keep at the back of our minds that the **others first** is a better principle to live by.

I agree that we must retain our self-esteem and seek out the best for ourselves everytime. But *self love* is **not** *true love*.

At every point we need to look out for not only our own interest but for the interest of others.
