Decided to see if this bike would start after sitting for seven (7) years.   I have a few of these (might need to take some parts from another which isn't running).

Started by washing it a little with a few buckets of water and rag.

The two stoke oil tank was removed a while back as was the air cleaner case (along with a lot of other parts).   Cleaned those as well.

Reinstalled the two stroke oil tank:

Then reinstalled the air cleaner case:

Put the seat (needs reupholster) on it , sat down and tried kick starting it.   Didn't start. 

Popped the clutch a few times (ran along side the bike, jumped on and shifted into 2nd gear) and it started!  See video below:
