My culture teaches me to do my duty without expecting anything in return. Doing something to others should be with unconditional love without expecting anything in return. Something like a love that a mother has on her kids. Mothers never expect anything in return. Nice article.

that's really sad waiting for something and then find it uncomplete or broken is such a heart breaking time what can be more bad than that!

That's pretty much how I feel all the time when I need to queue for something.

My queue karma sucks. Something will screw up and I'd have to wait forever.

Expectations can create a lot of disappointment, someone is happy only if he doesn't expect anything but who doesn't have expectations!

Works best to live without expectations.. I guess that must give an intense feeling of freedom. I'm not quite there yet though ;)

That is great idea to live life without exceptation,, to live life without exceptation is like to live life without being hurted...
Because sometimes we except too much and in return we get hurted..then we say we deserve it..

Fixing it without expectations will help. In life its best to expect the unexpected and you'll get yourself surprise by it or at least not hurt much, with the song I was looking for a line or a message as it goes but to my surprise got nothing to fine but find myself kinda meditating with song and I got my self mesmerized how it goes makes me realize to focus on dreams and in your life and not on expectations. That with the title of the song it says everything is possible stay focus with less or no expectations

Expectations. Not really related, for 15 years I kept shop and much of what we sold was blown glass and handmade pottery we shipped all over the world. I had *expectations* that my packing would be good enough that everything would arrive in one piece because thousands of buyers had *expectations* that it would be so. I know what that unpacking feels like...

I believe I have fairly successfully settled into a state of not expecting anything... in spite of naysayers who insist that *"If you expect nothing, that's precisely what you'll get: NOTHING."* To which I counter than maybe I *expect* nothing, but that doesn't mean I don't *hope* for something. Expectations and hopes are related... and yet quite different.

OMG! so sad news about your dreams. You attached a heart touching sound. Parcel was looking good but gift was already broken, too much sad.

hmm i tend to have expectation from anyone, myself included but i have managed through time, those expectation not to affect me if they below to what i imagined or hoped so. At the same time having expectation from others and getting surprised either negatively or positively it tells me a lot about the person.

As always, you spark a fire within me; inspirational! I love the way you wrote this -- I was very engaged with the style and made me read out loud for it was so coherent and soul-whispering. Expectations are always set in the future, and we never live in the future. We only live in the present. I know there's a difference between rationally saying to do away with expectations to actually committing and living that.

I'm sorry your broken parcel.  I can just feel the disappointment.
Dreams are real and we should never stop moving toward our dreams even if they seem impossible.
As long as we are moving forward and doing everything the best way we can, we are getting closer and closer to our dream.

fixing the dream will require extra measures, but it's your dream, you have got to dream it again to fix it.
