"Without action or motion, knowledge is just the idea of learning something and forgetting it after a while." This statement resonates with me on so many levels. I am a hoarder of knowledge (from information on the internet to books on just about any subject) but I have yet to use the knowledge that I have learned. Sad, but, as you said, it is easily forgotten. When I go through the book again, it is then that I do realize that I have not used the concepts/knowledge contained in them. It is the "action or motion" part that I, sadly, fail to follow-through.
