First of all it all starts in the mind and that's where it all ends. Anxiety is a mind produced sensation and it is also the mind that has the power to stop that feeling and its consequences. However there are some reverberations to the body also. For example the pulse starts to increase when you are feeling anxious, you are sweating more than usual and you don't seem to find your place in the room or wherever you are. Then you may have dizziness also and nausea if the level of anxiety is exaggerated. You can't focus your attention anymore and there's too much happening around you. You can also see your hands shaking a bit and if it reaches high levels you might also have the feeling of passing out. These are some short term symptoms but on long term it can get really nasty and affect your digestive system causing gastritis and IBS so it's really important to try and control your anxiety. I know that it seems hard to control but it's really not.
