I was watching a show with my wife the other day and during a commercial they were talking about a card that you could sign up for to get a great financing deal on a product. In the fine print they had the interest rate listed at over 30%. That is just crazy. Consider if you put your money in the back, you are probably going to be lucky if you get one or two percent interest. This company is charging you over 30% every time you are not able to pay your bill in full. Let's say you charge $1000 to your credit card and you only pay the minimum payment of $50 per month. At 32% interest it will take you close to two and a half years to pay that off and you will end up paying almost another $500 on top of the initial $1000. Also that is assuming you never use the card again after you make that initial charge. If you keep putting stuff on the card, it just keeps growing and growing. Especially if you just keep paying the minimum amount. We are all so dependent on them, but credit cards are a horrible, horrible scam. I think that is the biggest inconvenience of them.</p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"what-are-the-inconveniences-of-creditcards","appParentAuthor":"adam21","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
