It's a competition and trying to experiment with talent you're not yet sure of can put you in a disadvantage if you'r aiming to win. The other contestants will try to be at their best. If the act is so mainstream, there's always a way to innovate the existing mainstream. Creativity will be your friend.
\n
Let's say you can sing, rap, and dance. While everyone can do that as well, change the playing field by inserting your own twist. Mix your own music to sing about or dance to.
\n
This is just my personal take on the problem. I'm not good at singing or dancing. BUT I would just practice the minimum dances steps to get through the music. Mix my own music to prevent people from becoming too familiar with the timing and routine dance moves. Setup up a dark stage and use glow sticks so that people won't see most of my poor dance moves and focus on the glowsticks as I move then to the best.
\n
I don't necessarily have to be the best dancer. I just need to provide a show where I stand out from the mainstream and cover my possible errors while doing it.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"p39vqrcqq","appParentAuthor":"cairi","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
