I will never know if the outcome would have been different from not having been involved because one person ended up dead; Anyway, I promised myself not to use my knowledge again to \"hack\", although what I did was not like hacking, rather it was a \"pishing\".
\n

\n
It was April 2007, a time in which the security systems of large companies such as Google or Microsoft were nil. There were no today's security alerts, which alert you to your cell phone or an alternate account, an unrecognized or suspicious access to your email account, so if you knew someone else's password, you had guaranteed access to your account without import if you accessed it from an IP whose region was not the one commonly used by the owner of it.
\n

\n
A friend, older sister of one of my best friends, knew that I used this type of unethical practices; In his understanding, I \"hacked\" Hotmail accounts, so he asked me for a favor.
\n

\n
She had an exotic beauty, was intelligent, good vibes like few people; a capitalist doctor working in Veracruz, with an unfaithful couple who took advantage of her trips to another state, had fun with other women in Mexico City. I was 32 years old.
\n

\n
Months before, it was a piece of cake to create a page identical to the Login screen of the then called Hotmail; the references to the images were taken directly from the actual page of the Microsoft server, so in the browser, where the url of what is being downloaded is displayed while you open a page, you could see authentic routes, adding credibility to the \"pishing\" \" created by me. Its operation was simple, by requesting the username and password, it was stored in an external database, I received an email that warned me that the operation had been a success, and the page showed the message that comes out when you enter incorrect data, making the user believe that he was wrong when typing his password. Then I redirected him to the real hotmail page on the second attempt (I do not remember the details of why he did not redirect them to the first attempt but that detail does not matter now).
\n

\n
How to get them to the page -pishing-? Simple. I sent them a love card from a secret admirer with a link (to my page) to see it. It may sound confusing to you, dear readers, that when you open a link in your email, I ask you to enter the access data to your email again; I guess people thought that for some reason they had \"gone offline\" so they entered their data one more time. They would be surprised at how many people fell for the deception; probably 9 out of 10. At the second attempt to open the link of the mysterious virtual card, redirected to a real page that was dedicated to send virtual postcards of love, with a generic message.
\n

\n
Already with the access data, entered the tray and eliminated the mail with the pishing to get rid of the evidence, but hey, the point is that my friend suspected infidelity, so he asked me to \"hack\" the mail of his partner to corroborate his suspicions; Remember that Messenger and remote communication by mail was more common than by any other means. I went into the guy's mail tray while she was working in Veracruz, and indeed, there was incriminating evidence where you saw him; his partner had a double life, and he was unfaithful.
\n

\n
His brother does not know and I think I will never tell him and I regret what happened that weekend. When my friend received the access data she requested, she must have gone into shock and her visceral reaction was to quickly return to Mexico City to her apartment to confront her in full swing.
\n

\n
With emotional grief, and in his desire to return as quickly as possible, he had an accident on the road, specifically in Las Cumbres de Maltrata. She died instantly pressed. If I had not intervened, surely his destiny would have been different, and I reproach him to this day.
\n

\n
I did not \"hack\" anyone else after that day.
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkl48njl5","appParentAuthor":"ajayiwaldorf","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}"
