<p>I believe its definitely a bonus to be able to speak and write English on Steem. However it does need a certain level of fluency to be effective. If all you can do is post via a broken translation program or incomprehensible English you are probably better off sticking with your native tongue.</p>
<p>Since you are judged on your writing skills, ability to communicate effectively and clearly and on other components of that nature, producing a badly translated or incomprehensible article in English can actually be a detriment that would get you noticed but in a bad way</p>
<p>I believe that the ability to speak any additional languages besides your native is always of benefit, whether it be English or something else. By speaking multiple languages you can converse with more people, be exposed to more cultures and have a deeper understanding of what words mean to them. &nbsp;</p>
