If two people, regardless of sex, love each and want to marry why should anyone else have a say in that? As the joke goes, let them be as miserable as the rest of us married folks.
\n
Love should be the end all reason and the only reason why people get married. No one else should stick their nose in it.
\n
Same goes for adoption. Can anyone really believe it is better for a child to have NO parents and be moved from foster home to foster home than it is to have parents, even if they are of the same sex?
\n
As for religious beliefs that is for everyone to decide on their own. But do not force your beliefs on others and try to prevent them from celebrating their love or provide a child with that love, because you choose to focus on 1 thing \"said\" thousands of years ago by MEN (not god, he did not write the bible, it is MAN's interpretation) and ignore the other 99% of what is in that same book to justify your pettiness and selfishness in keeping people who love each apart or who are willing to provide a child bereft of love and family those same things you yourself enjoy.
\n
Religion should be a personal matter between yourself and whatever you believe in. Not a platform to force others into your way of thinking. The Church's of the world have continually revised their thinking as time as passed (for instance the earth is no longer the centre of the universe, scientists are no longer put to death for their beliefs) and in time this too will make its way into doctrine and be accepted. After all isn't spreading love and peace and acceptance one of the core tenants of every religion? Might be nice if they practiced what they preached huh.
\n
Especially when the subject matter at hand involves love. The love between 2 people, the love between parents and a child.
\n
NOTHING should stand in the way of fulfilling that.
\n
So straight couples or same-sex couples, get married, adopt children and enjoy your lives together
","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkvwsmh75","appParentAuthor":"acesontop","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
