Under her direction, the world's first studies into the treatment of <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoplasm\" title=\"Neoplasm\">neoplasms</a> were conducted using radioactive isotopes. She founded the <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curie_Institute_(Paris)\" title=\"Curie Institute (Paris)\">Curie Institutes in Paris</a> and <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curie_Institute_(Warsaw)\" title=\"Curie Institute (Warsaw)\">in Warsaw</a>, which remain major centres of medical research today.
