Having a larger market cap? More hashing power? I consider it unlikely that any coin surpass Bitcoin in market cap or hashing power (among the Proof-of-Work coins) in the near future. That's because the next bull run will be fueled by institutional money. That money will flow mostly to Bitcoin because custodial solutions will first be ready for Bitcoin investment. Highly secure custodial solutions are absolutely vital if any coin is to significant amounts of institutional money. When it comes to hashing power, Bitcoin has no plans to move over to Proof-of-Stake which is why it will continue to need a huge amount of hashing power. </p>\n<p>In the longer run, the total market cap of security coins the first of which will be released next year will easily surpass that of Bitcoin. Perhaps some large fund will be tokenized which would mean that a coin larger in market cap than Bitcoin will be born. But I doubt the world will see another PoW coin having as much hashing power as BTC.
