I'd trust them as much as I would trust the likes of PayPal. After all, we'd probably be talking about some kind of a centralized blockchain, which doesn't really make much sense, by the way. The whole point of a blockchain is to act as a trustless and decentralized ledger that does not require a trusted third party to operate. Does Facebook really intend to create a blockchain it does not retain full control of to act as an online payment system? If yes, great. But I suspect they are merely trying to ride on the coattails of the blockchain industry. Blockchain does have a blockchain department. It only employs a few dozen people. Maybe they're just experimenting and nothing will come of those experiments.
