Can someone be sick and after several test by the doctors nothing was detected?
Hi,

Yes, it is possible for people to suffer from physical and or mental health symtoms and due to the complexity of their condition, not attract an appropriate diagnoses.

When it comes to physical illness, many people cannot find the cause of their condition. No matter how many doctors they see or books they read.

We still have not mastered how the human body, and in particular the brain actual work. Sure, we have answers for conditions, and medicine has progressed, but not to the point where we know all the answers.

People exposed to trace elements, or to certain chemicals found in our environment or workplace can develope a myriad of physical ailments. And doctors may be able to diagnose what the patient is suffering from, like blood cancer and so on, but cannot trace the cause of the illnes

They may offer a hypotheses, but that's not good enough for electronic workers in under developed countries that want restitution from their previous employer. Or the court system.

The same can be said for mental health conditions! The reality is that most people that develop a MI do not nearly got the DSM or ICD criteria for a particular illness. In most cases, they are diagnosed with an illness that closely resembles their presentation.

And I do not think that we can seperate illness into two categories; physical and mental!

Consider psychosomatic disorders for instance-defined simply as a physical illness that may be caused, or mad worse by to a persons mental state.

If you think about it, most disorders have a psychosomatic component to them! Or if you like, our mental health can effect every physical disorder known to man!

For example, how people react to and cope with a diagnosis of cancer varies from person to person. Some people undergo their medical treatment but on a mental level they have given up and do not have any hope or mental strength to fight the disease.

Conversely, other people with the same cancer diagnosis, undergoing the same physical treatment are positive and determined to beat the disease.

And in most cases, research has shown that emotionally strong and positive people have a better prognosis.

However, no matter how positive a person is, sometimes aggressive cancers cannot be slowed or stopped!

Other examples of where your mind clearly impacts your body include:

skin disorders like psoriasis
neurotic conversion or psych disorder resulting in a person having tremors, paralysis, problems with sensory modalities and so on
high blood pressure
high cholesterol
Finally, think about an anxiety or depressive disorder. And the impact that mental health can have on a person physical health.

For example, during a panic attack the persons heart rate goes up, they have trouble breathing, they may faint, and so on.

And the depressed person's libido, appetite, and sleep are all negatively effected-To mention a few symptoms.

So, your not alone. Many people spend a lot of time searching for answers, a diagnosis that explains their condition.

But try not to let it get out of hand. Sometimes it's better to treat the symptoms and try to focus on the positive things in life.
