Fear excites the adrenal gland, and your natural instincts kick in. Whether you are prone to flight or fight is dependent on different factors in your life, but the two responses have different consequences to consider as well.</p>\n<p>In most societies, it's better to flight if you can, even if it doesn't sit well with you. I am naturally prone to fight because of training I've had, and live traumas. The consequences to this are substantial. I try to avoid confrontation at ALL COSTS, because if you hurt someone in self defense, you could be held legally liable, and courts generally do not care if you were defending yourself if they think you took it too far. </p>\n<p>I was involved in a confrontation once, where utilizing my training to subdue, instead of injure, resulted in a worse criminal charge! Even if you think you are doing the right thing, and preserving your right to defend your life, you could still get in hoards of trouble. </p>\n<p>My best advice if you feel fear, run, get away, call the cops, anything but fight if you can avoid it. If you don't end up dead or in the hospital, you might end up in jail.
