IS private equity worth going into?

Private Equity are firms accessible only institutional investment firms and accredited investors. Basically what they are is a coalition of people with money that use it to play around in closed-door deals and have stupid long commitment period. One such funds is the rather famous Softbank's Vision Fund, which aims to follow a 300-year plan from a $100 BIllion starting fund..

300 years.. while that is sensational, typical private equity firms arent so far off in terms of their commitment periods too. We're talking decades here.

Unless you're from an investment firm or are an accredited investor yourself, I don't think there's a way for you to get into it even if you wanted to.

If you are one of the above however, I dont think you'd need to ask the question.
