I think it's the other end that needs adjustment. </p>\n<p>Once the food is marketed, it needs to be monitored closely and taken action immediately in case things don't go as planned. Food has expiration date, that must be taken into consideration. </p>\n<p>I've seen non profit organizations in Italy, dealing with food waste. They go to farmer markets, set up shop at the end of the day and collect what vendors can't sell. Then poor people go and pick what they need, and what's left is taken to a kitchen where dinner is prepared. They also have agreements with restaurants hosting weddings, they collect what's left and distribute it to poor people. </p>\n<p>I've been to a fast food restaurant lately and have seen all the unconsumed sandwiches, French fries and all that's left is thrown to the garbage. That's waste. That food would feed animals very well. A bit or organizing and it can be done. </p>\n<p>When there's will, there's a way and something should be done. </p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"f39tm67d5","appParentAuthor":"badoreaja","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
