But only if we see that as a service instead of occupation. This question takes me little bit to my school days. I have had some best teachers in my school and college days. Some of the Gurus whom I met after my school and college days are also good tutors. My childhood dream was to become a teacher. I still have the dream intact in my mind and I also think that one day I will definitely leave all my other commitments and go for teaching. </p>\n<p>Just because my area of interest is teaching, I have observed and analyzed a lot about how a teacher should be. I also had a chance to analyze and understand how a teacher should not be. A person can enhance the teaching skills only by understanding the students. </p>\n<ul>\n <li>The intention of the teacher should not be to teach the students whatever the teacher knows. The intention should be to teach what the students will actually need. </li>\n <li>A teacher should be a good mentor to the students and easily approachable. Sometimes the teacher may not know the answer to the questions that students ask. At those instances teachers can be honest with the students. If teachers show faces to the students, they will have a hesitation to approach the teacher next time if they need anything. </li>\n <li>Remember things that you hated from your teacher when you were a students. Don't do that to your students. </li>\n <li>A good teacher should balance studies and entertainment. It will be wise to educate and engage the children in the class with some entertainment based education. </li>\n <li>Beating the students will not make a teacher good. The students will remember them forever as a bad teacher. </li>\n <li>A teacher can teach good things to the students only if the students like the teacher. If the students hate the teacher, whatever is thought by the teacher goes waste. </li>\n <li>It is good to ask feedback from the students quite often. They should feel free to share both good and bad about you. If feedback has some improvement areas, a good teacher should focus on improving that part. </li>\n <li>Surprise the students with some interesting things. There is no harm in spending some money now and then to buy some chocolates of things that students will love the most. </li>\n <li>Creating impression is very important. If the students are not comfortable with the teacher, the subjects they teach will not go inside the mind of students. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>After a student completes the education from school or college, they will not remember exactly the things they studied but they will remember if the teacher was a good teacher or a bad one. That impression will stay forever in the mind of students. Today when I recollect my school and college days, I'm able to think of few good teachers who really sacrificed their heart and soul towards teaching. </p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"fk78uel95","appParentAuthor":"kwadjobonsu","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}" |
