She would go without so we had something.</p>\n<p>We came from a poor household as she was a single parent but we never felt that way as we always had food on the table and clothes to wear. I understand more now what she went through to make our child hood what it was. </p>\n<p>being a parent myself I would do the same and it is something that we just do. I don't even think it's proper to say she happened to me. It's rather more correct to say I happened to her. </p><p>My mother has never for once made me doubt her love. She's been there through the thick and thin and has made many sacrifices I'm not sure I'm capable of. </p><p>I remember when I was younger. I would be very angry to not get extra servings of food and I would cry my frustration to her. I never even knew that she didn't rather because she had to make sure the food went around. </p><p>Growing up, we had aunts and uncles staying with us and food was rarely enough. Being nine in a house isn't a small number and it told on us kids but my mom mad the effect less noticeable. </p><p>My mother was my best confidant. I could tell her things and be confident my dad won't here. She knew the implications of certain actions I'd taken and knew I'd be in serous trouble if dad got to hear. She'd make sure my dad never knew and saved me from a lot of flogging back then. She would however issue out strict corrections which I promised to keep. </p><p>I grew up seeing my mum wake up before every other person and that just so food could be ready on time. It was a common experience to wake up to hear sounds coming from the kitchen because mum would want to make sure that her children and her husband eat before going to school and work respectively. She still does so even now. </p><p>These are just some few reasons. I love my mum and won't trade her for no one else. </p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"p3vgvgn8x","appParentAuthor":"benimaadetola","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}"
