json_metadata"{"app":"musing/1.1","appTags":["questions","curation","musing","steemit","post"],"appCategory":"questions","appTitle":"Do you think @musing read all the questions and answers before curating or they just upvote randomly?","appBody":"<p>Musing has a team of manual curators that read through the answers and upvote them according to a rubric that they have established. &nbsp;You can go to the Musing Discord server and you can see them talk about this. &nbsp;l also see that someone has posted the document they use to evaluate the answers.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>There was a time a little bit ago it was noticed that Musing was doing some powering down of their SP. &nbsp;I inquired about this and I was informed that it was so they could pay the curators. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>That was answer enough for me. &nbsp;I totally understand that curating is a tough job. &nbsp;Especially when you figure how many questions are being asked and answered every day here. &nbsp;It only make sense that they should get some kind of compensation. &nbsp;I think because of that it gives them an incentive to actually read the questions and answers.</p>\n<p>If it came to light that they were just phoning it in, I think they would be quickly removed from the team.</p>\n<p>You can see that high quality content is pretty consistently rewarded on Musing.io. &nbsp;That wouldn't be the case if they were just upvoting randomly. &nbsp;I get sometimes I might feel like they are when you type a response to a question and don't get upvoted, but you also have to remember that they probably only vote down to about 80% each day so that they can recover back to 100% in the 24 hour period. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>It doesn't allow them the ability to upvote every great answer because they need to be able to maintain their VP. &nbsp;Chances are though, if they have to skip over you on one question and you type up a good response to another question, they will get you on that one next time. &nbsp;</p>\n<p>I have a feeling it becomes very apparent to them over time which people are actually putting some effort into their answers and which ones are just typing a sentence or two hoping to get an upvote.</p>","appDepth":2,"appParentPermlink":"pkqg9aezw","appParentAuthor":"ayerz","musingAppId":"aU2p3C3a8N","musingAppVersion":"1.1","musingPostType":"answer"}"
